What’s the obesity breakdown this week? Fighting obesity is a daily challenge. In this breakdown, let’s talk about obesity and breakfast!
We always hear how important breakfast is, but did you know it is an indicator for future weight gain. In a recent study presented at the Experimental Biology annual meeting in San Diego, California, skipping breakfast is a predictor of future weight gain and increases your chances of becoming obese.
Eating in the morning kick starts your metabolism which helps you burn more calories throughout the day and also allows you to eat nutrients that are neglected throughout the day.
This is why it’s extremely important to eat breakfast as often as you can and more than 3 times a week. In that study, those who ate breakfast less than that amount had more belly fat by the end of the 12 year observation.
Remember to consult your physician to see how you can manage your weight and how COVID-19 may impact you.
